Are you struggling right now?
I'm here to help, and to tell you there is hope.
My name is Maktuno Suit, and I’m a UKCP accredited psychotherapist based in London. 'Maktuno means perseverance, and it's the thread that runs through everything I do. For the past fifteen years, I've helped people persevere through their past, face what they've spent years avoiding, and step into the life ahead of them.
Life has a way of knocking you down: trauma, addiction, loss, the pressure of holding a career and family together. I've hit rock bottom myself, walked through therapy, and come out the other side of it
I have a Christian faith, and for clients who want to, we can integrate that alongside the psychological work. I also work with people of every background and belief. This isn't a requirement, just something I can offer if meaningful to you.
I also run an online course for men struggling with porn and sex addiction called UNBOUND - you can find out more about here: unboundformen.com

We start with an assessment session to understand what's going on and whether we're a good fit. From there, we work in three-month blocks of sessions, paid in advance. This structure gives the work shape and momentum, rather than drifting indefinitely.

Sessions are reflective and action-oriented. We'll think deeply about what's underneath the surface, but we won't stop there. Depending on what's most important for you, we may also use experiments, tasks, or homework between sessions to help translate insight into real change.

The single biggest factor in whether therapy actually works is the relationship between us. Research consistently shows this matters more than any specific technique, so before anything else, my priority is building real trust and honesty in that relationship. From there, I draw on several approaches, tailored to what each client actually needs, rather than sticking rigidly to one method.
Psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy - this is where I start. It looks at how early experiences and unconscious patterns shape the way you think, feel, and behave today. It's particularly powerful for understanding why a pattern exists, not just what it looks like on the surface.
Attachment theory - this looks at the bonds formed with caregivers in childhood, and how those early relationships shape how you connect, trust, and relate to others as an adult. Much of what shows up in adult relationships, intimacy, and self-worth traces back here.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - a more structured, practical approach that helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. I bring this in when a client needs concrete tools alongside the deeper work, not instead of it.
Creative and experiential techniques - sometimes insight comes faster through something other than talking. I use creative methods and practical exercises, such as visualisation, roleplay, writing tasks, or structured experiments between sessions, to help move understanding into real, lived change.

Yes. Change happens through a combination of things: the relationship between us, the specific techniques and approach we use, and factors in your own life and readiness. No single element does it alone, but together, real change is absolutely possible. That's what this work is for.

Because I've lived it myself. Having gone through trauma and addiction personally means I bring real empathy and understanding to this work, not just clinical theory. I know what it takes from the inside.

Therapy sessions are £100 and 50 minutes long. If affordability is a barrier, I offer a sliding scale down to £50. Just let me know in our first discovery call.
Initial Assessments are 75 minutes and cost £120 - these are deeper dive sessions that kickstart therapy.
